The Best Asset the Church Has

I’m a graduate student in theology, and the more I read about American women religious, the more thankful and impressed I am. This group is vilified by popular culture, but it’s astonishing to realize how much of the educational and medical work, not to mention other work for social justice, would never have been done without this incredibly underpaid, under-respected, astonishingly faithful and inspiring group of women. And–as a recent article pointed out–*they* have never cost the church billions in abuse settlements. They’re the best asset the American Catholic Church has.
